Problem

Two identical beakers are filled to the same height h=20 cmh = 20\,\text{cm}. Beaker A contains only water (n=1.33n=1.33). Beaker B contains two immiscible liquids of equal height 10 cm10\,\text{cm} each: Liquid X (n=1.5n=1.5) at the bottom and Liquid Y (n=1.2n=1.2) at the top. Determine the ratio of the apparent depth of the bottom of Beaker A to the apparent depth of the bottom of Beaker B.
