Problem

Two glass bulbs of equal volumes are connected by a narrow tube and filled with a gas at 0C0^{ }\text{C} and pressure of 76 cm of Hg. One of the bulb is then placed in a water bath maintained at 62C62^{ }\text{C} . What is the new value of the pressure inside the bulbs? The volume of the connecting tube is negligible.
Intuitive explanation

This is a combined gas law problem where you have a fixed amount of gas split across two connected regions at different temperatures. The key insight is that the gas can flow freely between the bulbs (they're connected), so pressure equalizes throughout the system, but each bulb contributes differently to that pressure based on its temperature. Use the ideal gas law on each bulb separately, then add their partial pressures to find the total equilibrium pressure.
