Problem

For an infinitesimal general coordinate transformation x′μ=xμ+ξν(x)x'^{\mu} = x^{\mu} + \xi^{\nu}(x), show that to first order in ξν\xi^{\nu} the inverse transformation is given by ∂xμ∂x′ν=δνμ−∂νξμ.\frac{\partial x^{\mu}}{\partial x'^{\nu}} = \delta^{\mu}_{\nu} - \partial_{\nu}\xi^{\mu}.
