a. (i) If the ball is stopped in 5.0×10−3s when the hands are kept rigid, calculate the average force experienced by the hands.
b. (ii) When the fielder moves his hands backward, the time of contact becomes 2.0×10−2s. Determine the new average force.
c. (iii) Find the ratio of the force in part (i) to that in part (ii) and interpret your result in terms of safe catching technique.
