Problem
Show that putting equation (5.25) into equation (5.24) leads to the Bohr energies, equation (5.26). [Hint: The basic idea is to solve equation (5.24) by a power series, and demand that the result be normalizable. But if you have never been through this derivation before, you had better refer to a quantum text before proceeding. See, for example, Merzbacher (ref. 1), Chap. 10, Sects. 5 and 6.]
