Problem

A liquid A has density 800 kg m−3800\,\mathrm{kg\,m^{-3}} while water has density 1000 kg m−31000\,\mathrm{kg\,m^{-3}}. If the bulk modulus of both liquids is 2.2×109 Pa2.2\times10^{9}\,\mathrm{Pa}, calculate the speed of sound in (i) liquid A and (ii) water. Which liquid allows sound to travel faster?
