Problem

A rectangular advertising board has width fixed at 5 cm5\,\text{cm} while its length x(t)x(t) increases uniformly. (i) When the length is 10 cm10\,\text{cm} and increasing at 3 cm s−13\,\text{cm s}^{-1}, calculate the rate at which the perimeter of the board is increasing. (ii) If this rate remains unchanged, determine the time required (in seconds) for the perimeter to increase by exactly 20 cm20\,\text{cm} from the instant described in part (i).
