Problem

Suppose f∈L1(R)f \in L^1(\mathbf{R}). Prove that ∥f^∥∞=∥f∥1\|\hat{f}\|_\infty = \|f\|_1 if and only if there exists ζ∈∂D\zeta \in \partial \mathbf{D} and t∈Rt \in \mathbf{R} such that ζf(x)e−itx≥0\zeta f(x) e^{-itx} \geq 0 for almost every x∈Rx \in \mathbf{R}.
