Problem

Estimate the time taken for a sound wave to cross the Sun using eqn 31.11, assuming that the average temperature of the Sun is 6×106 K6 \times 10^6\,\text{K}. [Assume that the Sun is mostly ionized hydrogen (protons plus electrons) so that the average mass per particle is about mp/2m_\text{p}/2. The radius R⊙R_\odot of the Sun is 6.96×108 m6.96\times 10^8\,\text{m}.]
