Problem

(a) Consider the standing wave in Eq. (9.32). Draw plots of the energy density U(y,t)\mathcal{U}(y,t) at ωt\omega t values of 00, π/4\pi/4, π/2\pi/2, 3π/43\pi/4, and π\pi. (b) Make a plot of the yy component of the Poynting vector, Sy(y,t)S_y(y,t), at ωt\omega t values of π/4\pi/4, π/2\pi/2, and 3π/43\pi/4. Explain why these plots are consistent with how the energy sloshes back and forth between the different energy plots.
