Problem

A solid disk and a thin ring have the same mass M=2 kgM = 2\,\text{kg} and the same radius R=0.5 mR = 0.5\,\text{m}. Both are mounted on frictionless fixed vertical axes through their centers. Identical constant tangential forces F=10 NF = 10\,\text{N} are applied to the rim of each. Calculate the ratio of the angular acceleration of the disk to the angular acceleration of the ring.
