Problem

Suppose that T∈L(V,W)T \in \mathcal{L}(V, W), s1s_1 is the largest singular value of TT, and sns_n is the smallest singular value of TT. Prove that {∥Tv∥:v∈V and ∥v∥=1}=[sn,s1].\{\|Tv\| : v \in V \text{ and } \|v\| = 1\} = [s_n, s_1].
