Problem

A point PP with positive coordinates is common to all three curves given below: 1. y=x2y = x^{2} 2. y2=4axy^{2} = 4ax (where aa is a positive constant) 3. 2y=3x+12y = 3x + 1 a. (i) Determine the coordinates of PP by solving the three equations simultaneously. b. (ii) Hence, find the value of the parameter aa. c. (iii) Investigate algebraically whether any real point other than PP can satisfy all three equations at the same time.
