Problem

The triangle group, like any other group, has a trivial one-dimensional representation. It also has a nontrivial, one-dimensional representation, in which the elements are not all represented by 1. Work out this second one-dimensional representation. That is, figure out what number (1×11 \times 1 matrix) each group element is represented by. Is this representation faithful?
