Problem

Use thermodynamic arguments to obtain the general result that, for any gas at temperature TT, the pressure is given by P=T(∂P∂T)V−(∂U∂V)T,(16.88)P = T\left(\frac{\partial P}{\partial T}\right)_V - \left(\frac{\partial U}{\partial V}\right)_T, \tag{16.88} where UU is the total energy of the gas.
