Problem

Let P(z)=a0+a1z+⋯+anznP(z) = a_0 + a_1 z + \cdots + a_n z^n be a polynomial of degree n≥1n \geq 1. (a) Show that P′(z)=a1+2a2z+⋯+nanzn−1P'(z) = a_1 + 2a_2 z + \cdots + na_n z^{n-1}. (b) Show that, for k=0,1,…,nk = 0, 1, \ldots, n, ak=P(k)(0)k!a_k = \dfrac{P^{(k)}(0)}{k!}, where P(k)P^{(k)} denotes the kkth derivative of PP. (By convention, P(0)(z)=P(z)P^{(0)}(z) = P(z).)
