Problem

The Lippmann-Schwinger equation for the scattering state ∣ψ⟩|\psi\rangle is: ∣ψ⟩=∣ϕ⟩+1E−H0+iϵV∣ψ⟩|\psi\rangle = |\phi\rangle + \frac{1}{E - H_0 + i\epsilon}V|\psi\rangle where ∣ϕ⟩|\phi\rangle is a free-particle state with energy EE. (a) Show that this equation is equivalent to the Schrödinger equation (H0+V)∣ψ⟩=E∣ψ⟩(H_0 + V)|\psi\rangle = E|\psi\rangle with the appropriate boundary conditions. (b) Iterate once to derive the Born approximation.
