Problem

Suppose e1,…,eme_1, \ldots, e_m is a list of vectors in VV such that ∥a1e1+⋯+amem∥2=∣a1∣2+⋯+∣am∣2\|a_1 e_1 + \cdots + a_m e_m\|^2 = |a_1|^2 + \cdots + |a_m|^2 for all a1,…,am∈Fa_1, \ldots, a_m \in \mathbf{F}. Show that e1,…,eme_1, \ldots, e_m is an orthonormal list. This exercise provides a converse to 6.24.
