Problem

The length of a wave that has passed through a plane interface from one medium to the second medium decreases by the same factor as the speed of wave propagation decreases in the second medium. Using this fact and the law of conservation of energy and momentum, determine how many times the amplitude of the reflected wave and the wave that passed into the second medium is less than the amplitude of the incident wave. The density and modulus of elasticity of the media are equal to ρ1\rho_1, E1E_1 and ρ2\rho_2, E2E_2, respectively.
