Problem

Let XX be the wedge sum of nn circles, with its natural graph structure, and let X~→X\tilde{X} \to X be a covering space with Y⊂X~Y \subset \tilde{X} a finite connected subgraph. Show there is a finite graph Z⊃YZ \supset Y having the same vertices as YY, such that the projection Y→XY \to X extends to a covering space Z→XZ \to X.
