Problem

An old Christmas light system has two parallel wires connecting the plug to the final bulb. The top wire contains two fuses (AA and BB) in series, and the bottom wire contains two fuses (CC and DD) in series. For the system to work, current must flow through at least one complete wire. If every fuse has a 0.90.9 probability of functioning correctly independent of the others, calculate the probability that the light system works.
