Problem

In an experiment to prepare chrome yellow pigment (lead(II) chromate), 25.0 cm3\text{cm}^3 of lead(II) nitrate with a concentration of 0.400 mol dm−3\text{mol dm}^{-3} was mixed with 75.0 cm3\text{cm}^3 of potassium chromate solution with a concentration of 0.250 mol dm−3\text{mol dm}^{-3}. Pb(NO3)2(aq)+K2CrO4(aq)→PbCrO4(s)+2KNO3(aq)\text{Pb}(\text{NO}_3)_2(\text{aq}) + \text{K}_2\text{CrO}_4(\text{aq}) \rightarrow \text{PbCrO}_4(\text{s}) + 2\text{KNO}_3(\text{aq}) The precipitate of lead chromate was separated from the mixture by filtration, washed and dried. The mass of precipitate formed was found to be 1.80 g.
