Problem

A hollow cylindrical pipe has length L=5 mL = 5\,\text{m}, inner radius r1=8 cmr_{1} = 8\,\text{cm}, and outer radius r2=10 cmr_{2} = 10\,\text{cm}. Current flows along the length of the pipe (longitudinally, not radially). Calculate the resistance if the material resistivity is ρ=3.14×10−6 Ω⋅m\rho = 3.14 \times 10^{-6}\,\Omega\cdot\text{m}.
