Problem

Suppose that T∈L(V)T \in \mathcal{L}(V) is diagonalizable and UU is a subspace of VV that is invariant under TT. Prove that the quotient operator T/UT/U is a diagonalizable operator on V/UV/U. The quotient operator T/UT/U was defined in Exercise 38 in Section 5A.
