Problem

Let GG be a simple graph with nn vertices. Assume that each vertex of GG has at least one neighbor. A matching of GG shall mean a set FF of edges of GG such that no two edges in FF have a vertex in common. Let mm be the largest size of a matching of GG. An edge cover of GG shall mean a set FF of edges of GG such that each vertex of GG is contained in at least one edge e∈Fe \in F. Let cc be the smallest size of an edge cover of GG. Prove that c+m=nc + m = n.
