Problem

a. A car travels over a circular hump-back bridge of radius 40 m40\,\text{m}. (i) Derive the expression for the speed at which the normal reaction on the car becomes zero at the highest point. b. If the mass of the car is 900 kg900\,\text{kg} and it actually crosses the hump at 18 m s−118\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-1}, calculate the normal reaction exerted by the road on the car at that instant. Take g=9.8 m s−2g = 9.8\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-2}.
