Problem

Let F\mathfrak{F} be a commuting family of diagonalizable normal operators on a finite-dimensional inner product space VV; and let A\mathfrak{A} be the self-adjoint algebra generated by F\mathfrak{F} and the identity operator II. Show that each root of A\mathfrak{A} is different from 00, and that for each root rr of F\mathfrak{F} there is a unique root ss of A\mathfrak{A} such that s(T)=r(T)s(T) = r(T) for all TT in F\mathfrak{F}.
