Problem

Let VV be a vector space over a subfield FF of the complex numbers. Suppose α\alpha, β\beta, and γ\gamma are linearly independent vectors in VV. Prove that (α+β)(\alpha + \beta), (β+γ)(\beta + \gamma), and (γ+α)(\gamma + \alpha) are linearly independent.
