Problem

A stone is thrown horizontally from a tower of unknown height HH. It strikes the ground with a velocity vector having a magnitude of 50 m/s50\,\text{m/s} directed at an angle of 53∘53^{\circ} below the horizontal. Find the height HH of the tower. Also if the 40%40\% kinetic energy is lost in the impact then calculate the xx coordinate of second impact point (Take g=10 m/s2g = 10\,\text{m/s}^{2}, sin⁡53∘=0.8\sin 53^{\circ} = 0.8, cos⁡53∘=0.6\cos 53^{\circ} = 0.6, assume the ground surface is frictionless)
