a. For the integral ∫x ln⁡(1+x) dx\displaystyle \int x\,\ln(1+x)\,dx, indicate which of the two functions you would differentiate and which you would integrate. Give one reason for each choice. b. Using your choices from part (i), evaluate ∫x ln⁡(1+x) dx\displaystyle \int x\,\ln(1+x)\,dx. c. Differentiate your result from part (ii) to show that it indeed equals the original integrand x ln⁡(1+x)x\,\ln(1+x).
