Problem

Two objects, AA and BB, start simultaneously from the same point on a straight track. • Object AA starts from rest and accelerates uniformly at 3 m/s23\,\text{m/s}^{2} for the first 4 s4\,\text{s}; afterwards it moves with the constant speed attained. • Object BB starts from rest and accelerates uniformly at 2 m/s22\,\text{m/s}^{2} for the first 6 s6\,\text{s}; after that it continues with the constant speed reached. Answer the following questions: a. (i) Draw separate velocity–time graphs for the motions of AA and BB on the same set of axes. b. (ii) Calculate the displacement of each object in the first 10 s10\,\text{s}. c. (iii) State which object is ahead at t=10 st=10\,\text{s} and by how much distance. d. (iv) Determine the time after the start when object BB will overtake object AA. Show all working clearly.
