Problem

A particle of mass mm and energy EE scatters off a repulsive potential V(r)=V0(a/r)2V(r) = V_0 (a/r)^2 for r<ar < a and V=0V = 0 for r>ar > a, where V0>0V_0 > 0. (a) Show that only the ss-wave contributes in the low-energy limit ka≪1ka \ll 1. (b) Find the ss-wave phase shift δ0\delta_0 for this potential. (c) Find the total cross section in the low-energy limit.
