Problem

The complement G‾\overline{G} of the simple graph GG is a simple graph with the same vertices as GG, and {v,w}\{v, w\} is an edge of G‾\overline{G} if and only if it is not an edge of GG. A graph GG is self-complementary if G≅G‾G \cong \overline{G}. Show that if GG is self-complementary then it has 4k4k or 4k+14k + 1 vertices for some kk. Find self-complementary graphs on 4 and 5 vertices.
