Problem

Use exponential notation to show that (a) (3−i)(1+i3)=23+2i(\sqrt{3} - i)(1 + i\sqrt{3}) = 2\sqrt{3} + 2i. (b) (1+i)3=−2+2i(1+i)^3 = -2 + 2i. (c) 2i(3+i)(1+i3)=−82i(\sqrt{3}+i)(1+i\sqrt{3}) = -8. (d) 81+i=4−4i\dfrac{8}{1+i} = 4 - 4i.
