Problem

A rigid rod of length LL and negligible mass has a charge +q+q at one end and −q-q at the other, forming a dipole. The rod is hinged at its center and placed in a uniform electric field E⃗\vec{E} such that the rod makes an angle of 30∘30^{\circ} with the field lines. A string attached to the +q+q end pulls the rod perpendicular the rod's length to keep it in equilibrium. Find the tension in the string.
