Problem

A smooth wire has the form of the helix x=acos⁡θx = a\cos\theta, y=asin⁡θy = a\sin\theta, z=bθz = b\theta, where θ\theta is a real parameter, and aa, bb are positive constants. The wire is fixed with the axis OzOz pointing vertically upwards. A particle PP of mass mm can slide freely on the wire. Taking θ\theta as generalised coordinate, find the Hamiltonian and obtain Hamilton's equations for this system.
