Problem

(a) Using equation (4.52), prove that the eigenvalues of PP are ±1\pm 1. (b) Show that any function f(x,y,z)f(x, y, z) can be expressed as the sum of an eigenfunction f+(x,y,z)f_+(x, y, z) with eigenvalue +1+1 and an eigenfunction f−(x,y,z)f_-(x, y, z) with eigenvalue −1-1. Construct the functions f+f_+ and f−f_-, in terms of ff.
