Problem

A long coaxial cable of length L=100 mL = 100\,\text{m} consists of an inner conductor of radius a=0.5 mma = 0.5\,\text{mm} and an outer shielding of radius b=1.5 mmb = 1.5\,\text{mm}. The space between them is filled with a leaky dielectric material with resistivity ρ=2.0×1010 Ω⋅m\rho = 2.0 \times 10^{10}\,\Omega\cdot\text{m}. Determine the 'leakage resistance' (radial resistance) allowing current to flow from the inner core to the shield. (Use ln⁡(3)≈1.1\ln(3) \approx 1.1).
