Problem

A light rigid rod of length L=1.6 mL = 1.6\,\text{m} has a small bob of mass m=0.5 kgm = 0.5\,\text{kg} attached to one end. The other end is pivoted at a fixed point OO. The bob is initially hanging vertically at rest. Calculate the minimum horizontal velocity that must be imparted to the bob at the lowest position so that it can just reach the highest point of the vertical circle. Take g=10 m/s2g = 10\,\text{m/s}^{2}.
