Problem

Suppose I,JI, J are intervals and a monotone onto f:I→Jf : I \to J has an inverse g:J→Ig : J \to I. Suppose x∈Ix \in I and y:=f(x)∈Jy \mathrel{\mathop:}= f(x) \in J, and that gg is differentiable at yy. Prove: a) If g′(y)≠0g'(y) \neq 0, then ff is differentiable at xx. b) If g′(y)=0g'(y) = 0, then ff is not differentiable at xx.
