Problem

Let VV be a nonempty finite set. Let GG and HH be two simple graphs such that V(G)=V(H)=V\mathrm{V}(G) = \mathrm{V}(H) = V. Assume that for each u∈Vu \in V and v∈Vv \in V, there exists a path from uu to vv in GG or a path from uu to vv in HH. Prove that at least one of the graphs GG and HH is connected.
