Problem

Two long parallel wires, each of mass 50 g50\,\text{g} and length 1 m1\,\text{m}, are suspended by two light strings of equal length from a common horizontal support. The wires carry equal currents in opposite directions and repel each other. At equilibrium, the strings make an angle of 45∘45^{\circ} with the vertical, and the wires are separated by 2 cm2\,\text{cm}. Find the current in each wire. (Assume tan⁡(45∘)=1\tan(45^{\circ}) = 1, g=10 m/s2g=10\,\text{m/s}^{2})
