Problem

Lines pp and qq are parallel. Two transversals rr and ss intersect them between the parallel lines. (a) Transversal rr cuts pp at AA and qq at BB. At AA, the angle on the lower right side is (4x−14)∘(4x - 14)^{\circ}. At BB, the angle on the lower right side is (6x−46)∘(6x - 46)^{\circ}. Find xx. (b) Transversal ss cuts pp at CC (to the right of AA) and qq at DD. At CC, the angle on the upper left side is (2y+20)∘(2y + 20)^{\circ}. At DD, the angle on the upper left side is (y+25)∘(y + 25)^{\circ}. Find yy. (Assume all stated angles are in corresponding positions.)
