Problem

Suppose F=C\mathbf{F} = \mathbf{C} and T∈L(V)T \in \mathcal{L}(V). Prove that there exist D,N∈L(V)D, N \in \mathcal{L}(V) such that T=D+NT = D + N, the operator DD is diagonalizable, NN is nilpotent, and DN=NDDN = ND.
