Problem

(a) Show that for the eigenstates of LzL_z the expectation values of L+L_+, L−L_-, LxL_x, and LyL_y vanish. (b) Determine the average square deviation (ΔLi)2(\Delta L_i)^2 for the components of the angular momentum operator in the states YllY_{ll} and check the uncertainty relation. (c) Show that for the eigenstates of L2\boldsymbol{L}^2 and LzL_z the expression (ΔLx)2+(ΔLy)2(\Delta L_x)^2 + (\Delta L_y)^2 is minimal if m=±lm = \pm l.
