Problem

a. A mathematical pendulum makes small oscillations in one plane. The amplitude of its oscillations is A, the frequency is ω\omega. At the moment of maximum deflection the ball of the pendulum was given a small velocity v, directed perpendicularly to the plane of oscillation. What trajectory will the ball of the pendulum follow after that? To what extent will the distance from the ball to the equilibrium position change? b. Answer the first question for the case when the velocity v is given to the ball at the moment when it is at distance x from the equilibrium position.
