Problem

Let ff be a non-degenerate form on a finite-dimensional space VV. Show that each linear operator SS has an 'adjoint relative to ff,' i.e., an operator S′S' such that f(Sα,β)=f(α,S′β)f(S\alpha, \beta) = f(\alpha, S'\beta) for all α,β\alpha, \beta.
