Problem

A sphere of radius RR carries a polarization P(r)=kr,\mathbf{P}(\mathbf{r}) = k\mathbf{r}, where kk is a constant and r\mathbf{r} is the vector from the center. (a) Calculate the bound charges σb\sigma_b and ρb\rho_b. (b) Find the field inside and outside the sphere.
