Problem

Suppose f:B→Rf : B \to \mathbf{R} is a Borel measurable function. Define g:R→Rg : \mathbf{R} \to \mathbf{R} by g(x)={f(x)if x∈B,0if x∈R∖B.g(x) = \begin{cases} f(x) & \text{if } x \in B, \\ 0 & \text{if } x \in \mathbf{R} \setminus B. \end{cases} Prove that gg is a Borel measurable function.
