Problem

Let f:D→Rf : D \to \mathbb{R} and g:D→Rg : D \to \mathbb{R} be functions with DD nonempty, α∈R\alpha \in \mathbb{R}, and recall what f+gf + g and αf\alpha f means from the previous exercise. a) Prove that if f+gf + g and gg are bounded, then ff is bounded. b) Find an example where ff and gg are both unbounded, but f+gf + g is bounded. c) Prove that if ff is bounded but gg is unbounded, then f+gf + g is unbounded. d) Find an example where ff is unbounded but αf\alpha f is bounded.
